Children's Museum of the Sierra is e. off SR 41 (Southern Yosemite Hwy.) on SR 426 (Crane Valley Rd.), then just n. to 49269 Golden Oak Dr., Suite 104. This hands-on museum has a natural history area where young visitors can “dig” for bones; a bank with a teller's window, play money and an old-fashioned typewriter; a theater for role-playing; and an emergency services area with a child-sized fire truck and ambulance, a brass sliding pole and a 911 console simulator. Kids can dress in hospital scrubs, study X-rays and listen to hearts beating in the Teddy Bear Hospital. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
