Agua Caliente Indian Canyons, 5 mi. s. to 38-520 S. Palm Canyon Dr., is a vast scenic area that includes hiking trails and picnic areas set aside for visitors by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. The Agua Caliente Cultural Museum, 219 S. Palm Canyon Dr., offers exhibits and educational programs detailing the tribe's history and culture.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted.
Canyons entrance fee (includes Andreas, Murray and Palm canyons) $9; $7 (ages 62+ and students and military with ID); $5 (ages 6-12); free (military with ID); $11 (with horse). Museum free. Cash only.
Hours: Canyons daily 8-5, Oct. 1-July 4; Fri.-Sun. 8-5, rest of year. Last admission is 1 hour before closing. Museum Fri.-Sat. 10-5 (also Wed.-Thurs., Sept.-May). Ranger-led Andreas Canyon hikes are offered Fri.-Sun. at 10 and 1; phone ahead to confirm schedule.
