This hotel was way over rated. The level of service we received was subpar. Upon checkin we were informed the room would be ready shortly they were just inspecting it. 2 hours later the room was ready, in the mean time we went to the restaurant to have lunch and had poor service. We attempted to get reservations for dinner at the hotel, but is was booked solid and they didn't accept walk-ins. The whole reason we came to the hotel was to sit by the pool, but one of the pools were under construction making the main pool so crowded that we couldn't find a place to sit. We were in Palm Springs (112 degrees), the only reason to go is to sit by the pool and instead we had to sit in our room until 5PM when the pool became less crowded! When we finally sat by the pool we couldn't get any one to serve us. We finally went to the bar and ordered and they explained they would bring it to us, yet again they never brought our drinks! One of the main reasons for staying in this hotel is for the cool decor. We were pretty disappointed, the room felt as if it were decorated by one of those TLC quick design shows on a budget. At quick glance it was nice but then you start looking at the details (the carpet was pulling up, the ceiling wallpaper was peeling) and it felt as if it was a converted motel. There also was no balcony, which wouldn't have been a big deal if I was able to sit by the pool side and the view from the window was the backlot, where you saw ladders and dumpsters etc.
Pros: pretty outdoor grounds on the property and valet was nice
Cons: poor service and one pool was closed making other pool to crowded we couldn't sit anywhere

Room seemed way over priced. Terrible service. Would not go back.
Pros: Nicely located.
Cons: Staff seemed constantly overwhelmed. Called for turn down service -- no one came. Room service took over an hour. Part of the order was missing. No towels at pool.

Pros: Loved the grounds, the restaurants, great decor!
Cons: They never fixed our phone, the tub and the patio could have been nicer, the tub needs to be upgraded, and the patio needs to be painted. We heard the traffic from our room all night. The safe needs to be higher, not on the floor, internet kept going out.

Great way to the true...
Pros: Staff were helpful and facilities excellent. All three pools were well located and the facilities were good.
Cons: Meal and drink costs could have been a bit cheaper but the quality was excellent. Service at the bar could be slow when it was busy.

La La Land Luxury
Pros: The fact that the grounds are layed like an oasis, you feel like you never have to leave the hotel property for anything. It's ultimately, a playground for adults filled with all sorts of thought-provoking and nostalgic memorabilia from the 60s.
