B. Bryan Preserve is in the center of town at 130 Riverside Dr. This 100-acre private reserve is a refuge for hoofed mammals native to Africa, many of them on the endangered species list. Zebras, giraffes and antelopes roam in large, open fields in a near-natural environment, offering an opportunity to view them at close range. An introductory talk precedes the guided tour. Visitors also can feed baby animals housed in a barn.
Fog and wind can descend on the area unexpectedly and within minutes; bring a jacket and wear comfortable walking shoes. The terrain may be muddy during winter months.
