Western Pacific Railroad Museum is .6 mi. s. of SR 70 on CR A15 (Gulling St.), then w. to 700 Western Pacific Way. Housed in a former Western Pacific diesel shop, it displays more than 140 locomotives and railcars, including a 1950 streamline diesel and a Union Pacific Centennial, billed as the world's largest diesel locomotive. Railroad artifacts also can be seen. Train rides are offered. For an additional fee, the Run-A-Locomotive program offers rail fans the opportunity to operate a locomotive. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$8; $4 (ages 4-18); $20 (family, two adults and children). All-day train ride $4; $2 (ages 4-18); $10 (family, two adults and children). Locomotive cab rides with the engineer $20; $10 (ages 4-18). Run-A-Locomotive $175-$300; advance reservations are required.
