Plumas County Museum is at 500 Jackson St. Cultural and natural history displays explore area history since the 1850s, and the museum also has mining, logging and railroad exhibits, Maidu Indian artifacts and woven baskets, and historical documents and photographs. The restored 1878 Victorian Variel Home next to the museum is furnished to depict a middle-class lifestyle representative of the era. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
