AAA Editor Notes
William B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park, 1 mi. n. on Adobe Rd., has an 1850 adobe that is a memorial to the founder and president of the short-lived California Republic. In 1846 rumors that Mexican authorities were about to expel American settlers compelled Ide to join a band of settlers in the Bear Flag Revolt. Subsequently, California became an independent country with Ide as its president for 24 days until the Mexican War began and the area was occupied by U.S. troops.

Picnicking is permitted.
