Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens is at 415 Avenida Granada. Built in 1928, Casa Romantica is the former home of San Clemente founder Ole Hanson. The Spanish Colonial Revival house sits on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean. Exhibits inside detail the history of the home, San Clemente and Southern California with displays of maps, photos, newspaper clippings and other documents.
Gardens filled with native plants and fountains overlook the Pacific, and the beautifully restored interior is furnished with antiques. The cultural center hosts art, music, history, horticulture and literature community events.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
