San Diego Model Railroad Museum

San Diego Model Railroad Museum, in Balboa Park on the first floor of the Casa de Balboa building at 1649 El Prado, is reputedly the largest operating model railroad museum in North America with over 27,000 square feet of exhibits, including six scale model railroad layouts and a toy train gallery featuring Lionel-style trains, animated buildings and an interactive layout for children. A research library also is on the premises.
