AAA Editor Notes
Whaley House, 2482 San Diego Ave., was built by Thomas Whaley in 1857 and is thought to be the first and oldest two-story brick house in Southern California. The building, said to be haunted, has served as a residence, store, courthouse and theater; it now showcases period interiors.

Guided tours are available.
