Pros: Our room was fine, except that we looked out on a neighboring building and over the pool area. Don't know if the higher floors had a view of the ocean. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was nice but nothing extraordinary. The location was great for walking to the main highway by the ocean and all the way down to Seaport Village (shopping, restaurants, etc.) A short walk to the ferry that goes to Coronado. Coronado is a really neat city, too. Highlights: The Star of India (ship) and the USS MIDWAY aircraft carrier; an easy drive to Balboa Park (with a variety of fun museums, especially the Model Train Museum), the San Diego Zoo (the BEST in the country!!) and about 30 miles from the Safari Park (not to be missed!). Also, a short walk to the train which goes straight to Qualcom Stadium, in case you get tickets to a Chargers game. By the way, if you're looking for tickets go to VIVIDSEATS.com. Season ticket holders, and others, offer their tickets if they're not using them for a particular pre-season or regular-season game. This hotel is a couple of blocks walk from "Little Italy" where fabulous restaurants abound---Buon Appetito (outstanding Italian food), iDessert (can build your own concoctions---they even have an item called Vegas which includes a dry-ice effect!), the Burger Lounge (all natural, organic, local ingredients) to name a few. There's the Westfield Mall at Horton Plaza, not too far from the hotel, with colorful, wild architecture and the Seaport Village "mall". San Diego has tons to offer if you have the time to spend.
Cons: Thought the daily parking fee was a bit high.

Pros: Location is good but you do need to walk a good 10 minutes to be at the harbour. We opted for this hotel because of its location to the USS Midway which was one of our main reasons for visiting San Diego. The walk took us 15 minutes. There weren't many restaurants within an easy walk but lots within 20 minutes or so. Staff were lovely, really professional and always offering to asssist. Breakfast was crowded on a couple of days but the food was always topped up and service was excellent. Choice was much better than expected, hot and cold selections available. Hotel shuttle service to and from the airport was excellent.
Cons: We were really impressed with everything, no complaints.
