Pros: The staff was extremely professional and friendly, valet was excellent. Beautiful building through and through, no fridge but everything else was very nice.
Cons: Valet cost 42 pet night vs a high end stay in LA was only 23 per night, free in Vegas... pretty expensive, I'm general everything felt over priced. If money isn't a factor the hotel is exceptional. No pool though... (across the street has a rooftop pool)

Pros: Location
Cons: Several. No one offered to help me get my luggage out of my car until I did it myself. They kept me waiting for 15 minutes to get my car from valet and then told me they forgot to get it. Took another 5 min. Found several stains throughout hotel & room

Pros: Roomy and decorated very well. I would stay again.
Cons: Appears to be some water damage on the third floor. Also it's a bit noisy. Traffic bleeds through the walls.

This hotel is NOT 5 stars. I will rate it at 3.5-4 stars. The hotel has a beautiful lobby but the luxury stops there. If you are unfortunate and your suite is facing the 4th Ave Plaza Hotel than you will see the other guests in the other building leering into your suite ie shirtless males smoking at their balcony looking into your room. You will need to keep the blinds close at all times. The US Grant hotel is also situated across from a transient hotel/homeless shelter. In a given night you will see about 20 homeless people on the streets lined up to the shelter. There is no swimming pool at the hotel. The rooms are small and the whole all the rugs at the hotel are stained.
Pros: It was in the Gaslamp district.
Cons: Hotel is surrounded by homeless people.

Pros: Our trip included both work and leisure components, and The U.S. Grant's central location in the Gaslamp Quarter was perfect for everything we wanted and needed.
