Chinese Historical Society of America Museum and Learning Center, 965 Clay St., is in the historic Julia Morgan Chinese YWCA building. The museum's permanent exhibit, Chinese American: Exclusion/Inclusion, chronicles the complex history of the Chinese in America and raises the question, "What does it mean to be an American?" Temporary exhibitions revolve around contemporary culture and art.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
