San Francisco City Hall is between Polk, Grove and McAllister sts. and Van Ness Ave. at 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Pl. Opened in 1915, this expansive building covers two full city blocks and is topped by one of the largest domes in the world. Two “light courts” featuring skylights and marble walls display changing art exhibits; the building's original marble staircase separates the two courts. Docents conduct 45-minute guided tours.
