San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park is at the w. end of Fisherman's Wharf. In addition to a fleet of historic ships, a maritime museum and a maritime research center, the site also includes the bayside Aquatic Park's beach and cove. The visitor center, in a restored 1907 warehouse, has interactive displays that relate the city's maritime history. Highlights include a first-order Fresnel lighthouse lens and an exhibit that allows visitors to walk through time along San Francisco's historic waterfront.
Historic ships boarding pass $10; free (ages 0-15).
Hours: Visitor center daily 9:30-5. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
