AAA Editor Notes
The San Francisco Dungeon is at 145 Jefferson St. (between Taylor and Mason sts.). Explore San Francisco's seamier side on this journey that recounts different eras of the city's past. Visitors are escorted through a series of themed rooms—a courtroom, Miss Piggott's Saloon, an Alcatraz prison cell—where costumed actors spin tall tales and encourage interactive audience participation. Among other things, you'll learn about the wild and woolly Barbary Coast era and a plague that afflicted Chinatown. Despite the often gruesome trappings, the shenanigans are all in good fun.
Due to content, the show is not recommended for children under 10.
