Pros: Staff was very nice.. super friendly
Cons: Someone was smoking cigarettes thinking maybe down stairs from us since we share ventilation it come into our bathroom and we have a 4 year old son.. By the am our room smelled like a bar.. That's with us closing the bathroom door alll night.. We are non smokers but most importantly I was more worried about my son..

Pros: Location was excellent and bed was comfortable. Many reviews say to be wary of the area as its dangerous but you could say that about anywhere in San Francisco at night. This hotel is right next to Union Square. Pubs and restaurants all around you. The price was excellent too, being nearly less than half of the average cost a night in San Francisco, but this of course means you will be getting what you pay for. Rooms are clean and comfy but I wouldn't be spending too long there other than the time you're sleeping and getting ready to go out - but you're in San Francisco so why would you stay in :) I would stay here again as the value was so good, but might try booking earlier to see what else is available for same cost.
Cons: The staff member that checked us in and out was a bit unusual in that I felt he handled our queries and issues poorly. We had questions about the tax which wasn't included but I felt he must have been asked this quite a lot, and still we didn't get a clear answer. The rooms were mixed up between my friends and I, and questioning this in the attempt to resolve it made things more confusing. I felt that whenever we had a question, he was rather rude with his answers as if we were putting him out or annoying him. I've never had many questions to be honest when travelling and we are not high maintenance but he did make the whole process very confusing which put us off a bit. I wouldn't rely on getting breakfast here even though its included - Theres 100s of rooms and about 5 tables in reception which is where you'd get your breakfast. Cleaning started at 8am right outside our room with a loud hoover, and to top it off, the cleaner knocked on our door multiple times only to apologise when we finally got up and said we were still sleeping.
