Pros: The view from the hotel rooms is stunning. There is no other hotel in San Francisco that you can get such stunning views of the city and bay. It is not cheap (by a long way) but it is a luxury worth experiencing at least once in your life. The employees were, under Mandarin Oriental, and are, under Loews, the happiest and most helpful hotel employees I have ever met.
Cons: Stains in carpets could addressed and lack of lounger area.

Pros: Good location in the financial district. Great views from our 38th floor room. Very friendly concierge. There is a Starbucks just round the corner for breakfast.
Cons: Room service food was bland and tasteless. Pizza base appeared to be frozen. The lounge/dining room on the ground floor is small and very noisy when full. We avoided eating in the hotel.
