Guests walk downstairs to enter this modest eatery. There are standard Chinese American items and then there are the other menu items. The restaurant really shines with its no-nonsense, home-cooked flavors and braised oxtail with yuba (slightly chewy). Ask for the fresh vegetable of the day and have it stir-fried. Or try the whole catfish steamed with black bean sauce and accompanied by egg white and dried scallop stir-fried rice. Dinner comes with the complimentary soup of the day. During lunch they also serve daily specials of Hong Kong-style Western food such as beef stew with rice, curry chicken and corned beef.
