History Park is at 1650 Senter Rd. at Phelan Ave. On the grounds are 27 historic structures that help tell the story of San Jose and the Santa Clara Valley and are representative of area life at the turn of the 20th century. Visitors can see a Chinese temple and a Portuguese império (church), observe letterpress printing and hop aboard a vintage trolley. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
Park admission free, except during special events. Admission $5 on Sat.-Sun. Family Days and during special events; free (ages 0-3). Phone ahead for Family Days and special events schedule. Parking: $6.
Hours: Park grounds open Mon.-Fri. noon-5, Sat.-Sun. 11-5. Selected historic buildings and exhibits open Sat.-Sun. 11-5. Trolley rides Sat.-Sun. 11-4. Last admission is at 4:30. Park closed Jan. 1, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, day after Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
