AAA Editor Notes
San Luis Obispo Children's Museum is at 1010 Nipomo St. at Monterey St. On the first floor, children take a pretend elevator to the Caves of Exploration, where they can search for fossils, explore a kelp forest, build an earthquake-proof structure atop a shake table and interact with a video wall.
On the second floor, youngsters can explore a tiny town, climb a 17-foot clock tower, drive a fire engine and become a green grocer at a farmers market. The third floor, Jelly Bean Junction, is a miniature train depot for toddlers, with a life-size Brio train engine. Outside enjoy a water play area, musical garden and Western town.
Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
