AAA Editor Notes
San Luis Obispo Children's Museum is at 1010 Nipomo St. at Monterey St. On the first floor, children take a pretend elevator to the Caves of Exploration, where they can dig for fossils, work at a robot lab, explore a kelp forest, build an earthquake-proof structure atop a shake table and interact with a video wall.
On the second floor, youngsters can play grown-up in a village, climb a 17-foot clock tower, drive a fire engine, perform on stage or become a green grocer at a farmers market. The third floor, Jelly Bean Junction, is a miniature train depot for toddlers, with a life-size Brio train engine. Outside enjoy a water play area and musical garden.
Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
