Santa Barbara Museum of Art, 1130 State St., displays American, Asian and 19th-century European art; contemporary works; Greek and Roman antiquities; a major photographic collection; and changing exhibitions. The collections include works by Edgar Degas, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet and Pablo Picasso. The Family Resource Center helps youngsters learn about art through play and interactive exhibits. Guided tours are available. Food is available.
$10; $6 (ages 6-17, ages 65+ and students with ID); free (ages 0-5 and active military with ID). Guided tours free with admission.
Hours: Tues.-Sun. 11-5 (also Thurs. 5-8). Guided 30-minute tours are given at noon and 1. Closed Jan. 1, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
