Cons: It was not as advertised. The Pool was the size of a hot tub. Not enough parking. Room was so small it was hard to move around in. The paid rate queen beds were full size not queen. I expected more for the price for 3 nights.

Pros: Great location, just a short walk to the beach and downtown. Staff was really friendly and the breakfast was great for the price.
Cons: Overall everything was really great, but the sink in our bathroom was clogged. They fixed it right away and we didn't even have to ask!

Come for the value, stay...
Pros: Lots to love about this hotel! Super close to the beach and boardwalk, very soft and comfortable beds, and a waffle maker for continental breakfast. They also let us check in an hour early and gave us a late check out of a half hour, so they are quite accommodating. Finally, I also left an expensive dress hanging in the closet and did not realize it until the next night after we had checked out. Luckily they kept it safe for me and returned it. So thankful!
Cons: Pool was too small to bother with. The first room they put us in was a queen room, but our reservation was for a king room. They changed our room when we brought this to their attention.

Pros: The room was very clean and looked to be recently renovated. The location was fantastic! Just two short blocks from the boardwalk. Breakfast was decent, what you would expect.
Cons: We had some noisy neighbors that some of the other guests were commenting on during breakfast the next morning as well. They seemed to be hollering at each other from the balcony to the parking lot below, and it went on for some time with no one seeming to ask them to stop. Parking was also very limited, and at one point all spots were taken so we were instructed to park behind the motel which was in a dark alley.

Pros: Comfortable bed, clean modern rather small room, good wifi, 10 min walk to downtown, classy guests barbecuing burgers in the parking lot and hanging out half-dressed with their room doors open.
Cons: Tight parking, location in "cheap motel ghetto" near boardwalk meant lots of colorful and seedy characters around. Actually all of downtown Santa Cruz has lots of weird people. Get used to it or go to Monterey where everyone is rich and white.
