Pros: The breakfast is on the expensive side but very tasty and the a la carte portion sizes are generous.
Cons: This hotel over-promises and under-delivers. The "fitness center" is a small windowless room in the basement with hardly any fresh air circulation and old machines. The hotel still advertises its own spa but it doesn't actually have a spa or in-house massage therapists any more. The room was just very average, nothing special and not worth returning to. The entire hotel really needs an upgrade as it looks tired and outdated. Santa Maria itself is a boring town. The only thing that might be of interest to travellers is the drive-in move theatre, but beware -- the times it advertises on its website are completely wrong so it is best to call ahead and confirm with someone first! Honestly unless you have a real reason to be in Santa Maria I would avoid this town and stay somewhere nicer. Santa Barbara is only another hour down the coast and is WAYYYYYY better.
