Pros: The towels were fresh and smelled good. The location is great. It's right in the middle of town near all if the shopping. Theres no pool. Don't expect a yard or much relaxing amenities at this hotel. Great place if you just need a place to sleep and get out.
Cons: The room was was not clean. Dust, grime, gunk on the carpet, dresser, and mirror. No working wifi, although we were given a password. Ceiling fan did not work. The shared bathroom was equally unclean. The glasses left for drinking water were used previously and left turned down on the dresser when we arrived. The bed was very much uncomfortable.Continental breakfast was sub- par. When we asked to change rooms the host (Leslie) was put out and said its too much trouble since we have to credit the card and re-charge at a higher rate?

Pros: Good location in the center of town
Cons: Older hotel. Tiny room! Just barely enough room for bouncy queen bed and two night stands. No place to put suitcase. No closet. Got higher priced "garden view" which was really "sidewalk view." Facilities are worn.

Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. The Main St. location in beautiful St. Helena was convenient. Breakfast was fine.
Cons: The hotel was in need of a good cleaning and maintainence, simply run down, neglected and dirty, with broken bathroom fixtures and plumbing issues. The room was tiny, crowded, musty, and had no air conditioning. The room had aproximately a foot and a half of space on each side of the bed, and maybe two feet of space at the foot of the bed! That's it, no other room to move, or pass by one another. No closet, just hooks on the doors for your belongings. Access to only one outlet, no place to charge your phone. This hotel is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED at over $500 per night. Its true value is about $150 per night, based on size of room, lack of amenities, lack of cleanliness, and lack of proper maintainance. We will never stay here again, nor recommend it. So sad, this historic hotel would benefit greatly from a renovation, and someone with high standards to care for it.
