AAA Editor Notes
Sunnyvale Heritage Park Museum is at 570 E. Remington Dr. The museum is housed in a replica of the home of the Martin Murphy family, who played an important role in early California history. Murphy, the founder of Sunnyvale, came to California in 1844, reportedly the first person to cross the Sierra Mountains in a covered wagon. A 6-minute film depicts the harsh conditions early settlers endured.

Members of the family lived in the home until 1950; the original house was damaged by a fire in 1961 and demolished. Exhibits relate local history, including information about Del Monte, Libby's and other local companies that started up in the pre-dot.com era.

Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
