Stayed overnight for a little trip away. Greeted by friendly staff. Room was ready and was nicely decorated, clean, and complete with a Ofuro Japanese soaking tub on the back deck. Also had a deck shower. On-site restaurant (the Blue Wing) was great. It was less than 1min walking distance from our room and had great cocktails. Hanger steak and collard greens were fabulous! Borrowed a DVD from the desk and called it a night. Great stay overall!
Pros: Japanese soaking tub was delightful, on-site restaurant was very convenient and had great food
Cons: Can't think of anything

We went to Lake County for a wine festival. The festival was just so-so, but the Tallman Hotel made it worth the 3-hr drive. What a pleasant surprise-a beautifully refurbished hotel with all the comforts, great live music on the weekends, good food at the adjacent restaurant, and excellent breakfast with home-made bakery goods. All the personnel were very professional as well as friendly. Upper Lake is not an interesting town, but this is a great place for a quiet retreat.
Pros: Beautifully restored hotel with a pool, live music, and a good restaurant adjacent. What more can one ask?
Cons: Wish I had worn long pants and socks while dining on the veranda. Mosquitos feasted on my legs and ankles. (There are mosquito-repellant lights above the tables that kept our arms and faces safe.)

Superb
Pros: Cute place with Blue Wing next door. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Cons: 7:30 a.m. is late for breakfast. This is why I gave a poor rating on the breakfast. At least have something available to grab and go at 6:00. With the sunrise at 5:30 and the temperatures in the 100s, folks who venture out will leave early.

Just great.
Pros: The personnel/staff were excellent. Extremely helpful. Went out of their way to help us and upgrade us without our even asking when an air conditioning unit failed in the unit.
Cons: Nothing
