J.J. “Jake” Jackson Memorial Museum, 780 Main St. (SR 299), explores Trinity County's Native American, gold rush and pioneer past. Highlights include an extensive textile collection, a working blacksmith shop, a steam-operated stamp mill, restored stagecoaches and buggies, and a miner's cabin. The History Research Center is a repository for photographs, maps and books detailing Trinity County history from the early 1800s to the present. Picnicking is permitted.
