AAA Editor Notes
Nombre de Dios Caverns (Grutas de Nombre de Dios) are in the northeastern part of the city, about a 20-minute drive from downtown Chihuahua via Calzada H. Colegio Militar, then along dirt roads following the blue-and-white signs. Stalactite and stalagmite formations in these small caves are said to resemble Don Quixote, a dinosaur head and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, among other things. Tours with English-speaking guides are available.

The path through the caverns is fairly dark and has some tight passages and a couple of steep inclines; the tour is not recommended for those prone to claustrophobia.

Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
