Quinta Gameros

Quinta Gameros is at Paseo Simon Bolívar #401, about 8 blks. n.w. of the main plaza. The cultural center for the University of Chihuahua occupies a restored turn-of-the-20th-century mansion—named for Manuel Gameros, the wealthy mining engineer who commissioned its construction—furnished in Art Nouveau style. The main reason to visit is not the university's collection of art on the second floor but the building's stained-glass windows, intricately carved wooden staircases and lavish interior decoration and furniture.
