South Park City Museum, at 4th and Front sts., is a restored early Colorado gold-mining town typical of the 1860s to 1900s. Seven of the more than 40 buildings are on their original sites; the remaining structures were moved from deserted mining camps and ghost towns in nearby areas of Park County.

The buildings, all furnished with period articles, include a newspaper office, drugstore, saloon, assay office and general store. Mining machinery also can be seen, and a narrow-gauge train stands at the depot. Special events feature interpreters dressed in period clothing along with demonstrations of crafts.

Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
