AAA Editor Notes
Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge, 3 mi. e. on US 160, then 2 mi. s. on El Rancho Ln., is a 12,000-acre refuge. Ducks, geese and shorebirds nest on the marshes. Bald eagles are common November through March. A 2-mile nature trail along the Rio Grande, a 3.5-mile driving tour and the Bluff Overlook provide wildlife viewing opportunities. A visitor center offers interpretive displays.
