The two brand new hospitals down the road are starting to gentrify this area. Regardless, this restaurant has survived since 1974 for good reason. The menu consists of recipes passed down through generations. The servers treat their regulars with great warmth. My favorite dish is the chile rellenos, but occasionally branch out. I tried (and enjoyed) one of the new menu items—a healthy fajita dish. The fajita dish was good for a less than 500 calorie option, but life without cheese is a little less satisfying. The guacamole was fresh and perfectly flavored. I would recommend splurging and sticking to their regular menu, which features everything from tacos to enchiladas. The creamy flan was doused in a very sweet caramel sauce, perhaps a little too sweet for some.
