Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum

Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum is at 331 Elk Ave. The front of the museum functioned as a hardware store 1883-1996; a coal stove and original cases filled with goods representing items sold in the past are on display. Exhibits about the local Ute population and the geology, mining, ranching, railroad, skiing, mountain biking and domestic history of Crested Butte may be seen as well as a model railroad, a mining diorama and a gondola.
