Molly Brown House Museum, 2 blks. s. of Colfax Ave. at 1340 Pennsylvania St., was the home of Margaret Tobin Brown and James Joseph Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Brown moved into the home in 1894 after striking gold in Leadville. The socially prominent Mrs. Brown was known for her political activism and philanthropy as well as for surviving the Titanic disaster. She was also a figure in the national suffrage movement to gain women the right to vote.
