AAA Editor Notes
Hamill House, 305 Argentine St., was built in 1879. The restored home of silver mine owner William Arthur Hamill demonstrates the wealth and opulence of the late-19th-century silver boom in Colorado. The home had central heating, gaslights and running water before most of the community had heard of such things. It also has a six-seat, cupola-topped privy, a granite-constructed stable, a carriage house and an office building.
Guided tours are available.
