This story began when chef Thomas Salamunovich put his gourmet Larkburger on the menu at Larkspur, his fine dining restaurant in Vail. The burger became so popular Salamunovich created a fast-food restaurant around it; now it's a small chain. The juicy, all-natural Angus beef and turkey burgers are heavenly. Fries seasoned with Parmesan and truffle oil are the perfect accompaniment. The creamy $5 shakes are made with local ice cream. Reclaimed wood panels complement the modern décor. All the cups, salad containers and utensils are biodegradable.
