Southern Ute Cultural Center & Museum, 77 CR 517 at jct. US 172 and CR 517, explores the culture and traditions of the Ute people through interactive and multi-sensory exhibits in a 52,000-square-foot facility with striking contemporary architecture. The permanent gallery offers a historical perspective, while rotating exhibits focus on subjects relating to the Southern Ute tribe. Visitors can explore the surrounding property, which features native trees, plants and flowers of special significance to the Ute. A library and archives contains hundreds of recorded oral histories available to visitors.
