Francisco Fort Museum, off US 160 to SR 12, following signs to 306 S. Main St., is within an 1862 fort and features seven buildings surrounding an original Spanish-style adobe plaza. The fort contains 11 display rooms, including a kitchen, bedroom, parlor and country store. Fossils, Native American pottery and 19th-century farm equipment are featured.
Other historic buildings include an 1800s saloon, blacksmith shop and log schoolhouse.
Guided tours depart from 123 W. Francisco St.
