Leadville National Fish Hatchery is 2 mi. w. off US 24 at 2846 SR 300. Established in 1889, this hatchery is one of the oldest in the federal system. It propagates cutthroat and rainbow trout. A visitor center offers educational information and a historic perspective on hatchery operations. Hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and fish feeding are offered.
