Tread of Pioneers Museum, 8th and Oak sts., reflects the history and heritage of the Steamboat Springs area. Set in a furnished 1908 Queen Anne-style home, the collection includes early household items; skiing, ranching and mining memorabilia; an extensive collection of firearms; and Native American arts. Displays explore the lives of Native Americans and early settlers. Interactive exhibits and activities for children also are included. Educational programs and tours are available.
