Victor Lowell Thomas Museum, at jct. 3rd St. and Victor Ave., offers glimpses into the gold rush days of the 1890s as well as the life of the noted journalist, who grew up in Victor. Exhibits also feature World War II memorabilia, a local doctor’s office and Victor's mining history. Gold panning and gold mine tours are available. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
Museum (includes 1 hour gold panning) $6; $5 (ages 60+); $4 (ages 0-12). Mine tours $7.50.
Hours: Museum and gold panning daily 9:30-5:30, Memorial Day weekend-Labor Day; Fri.-Mon. 10-5, day after Labor Day-Sept. 30.
