Henry Whitfield State Museum is off I-95 exit 58, then 1 mi. s. of US 1 via CR 77 to 248 Old Whitfield St. The museum is housed in what is said to be the oldest building in Connecticut and the oldest stone house in New England. Built in 1639, the building was restored in the 1930s. Visitors can view 17th- through 19th-century furnishings in the house. The visitor's center and Education Building feature changing exhibits.
