AAA Inspector Notes
This 1853 former home of a sea captain was incredibly restored and turned into an inn in 2016. The nautical-chic themed rooms feature fine quality furnishings, amenities and sumptuous Matouk bedding. Most of the classic-styled bathrooms have white tile showers, Molton Brown bath products and scented air diffusers. Others have a separate claw-foot tub and antique pedestal sinks. Daily snacks, such as roasted nuts and chocolate covered malt balls, are provided along with French press coffee, which can be delivered to your room. Guests have access to a 1920s style speakeasy bar in the basement, which is entered through a secret door behind a bookcase. The speakeasy lounge has a romantic ambience and an exclusive feel, and has been the spot of numerous proposals. Recreational activities include bocce, croquet and biking; Vespa rentals are available to go into town. The many shops of Mystic are located just a few blocks away. Complimentary passes to a nearby gym are provided to those who would like a traditional workout. Guests can also sign up for the "BMW Experience," which allows you to test drive a new model BMW for 3 hours. Be sure to check out the top-floor cupola, which offers stunning views of Mystic's waterfront.
