Florence Griswold Museum is .2 mi. n. of I-95 exit 70 at 96 Lyme St. The Late Georgian-style mansion was once Miss Florence Griswold's boardinghouse and home to the Lyme Art Colony in the early 1900s. The museum includes a collection of American art from the 18th century through the present, in addition to period rooms reflecting the life of the Lyme Art Colony artists. Eleven acres of grounds and gardens can also be explored. In October, guests can follow the Wee Faerie Trail into the Whimsical Kingdoms where more than two dozen faerie-scaled castles, palaces and towers celebrate fiction’s greatest princes and princesses.
