Phelps Tavern Museum & Homestead is at 800 Hopmeadow St. The 1771 Phelps House functioned as a tavern for more than 80 years, welcoming travelers who arrived by horse, stagecoach and canal boat. The museum includes the tavern room, card room, kitchen, guest rooms, ballroom and meeting room, all of which contain period furniture and historical and family items. It is also the headquarters of the Simsbury Historical Society.
