Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Greenhouses are on the University of Connecticut campus at 75 N. Eagleville Rd., Unit 3043 (behind the Torrey Life Sciences building). This facility houses one of the most diverse teaching plant collections in the United States, with specimens from Australia, Asia, the African tropics and the world's temperate, desert and Mediterranean regions. A new epiphyte greenhouse contains numerous types of orchids, and special collections include aquatic, medicinal and carnivorous plants. Note: Campus parking is limited; the North Parking Garage is the closest visitor parking area. Exit the garage, walk along Auditorium Road past the Jorgensen Auditorium and enter the greenhouses where they connect to the Torrey Life Sciences building. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
Free. Parking: $1 per hour in the visitor parking garage.
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 8-4. Closed major holidays.
