The Institute for American Indian Studies is .9 mi. s. on SR 47, 1.3 mi. s. on SR 199, then .1 mi. w. to 38 Curtis Rd. Displays of Native American artifacts and contemporary Native American art help to reconstruct the past 12,000 years of the area's cultural heritage. A replica of a Northeastern Indian village, a nature trail, a simulated archeological site and changing exhibits highlight aspects of native life, including contemporary themes. Educational programming is available by appointment.
