Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue is at Hanchi di Snoa 29 in Punda. Consecrated in 1732, the synagogue is the oldest active Jewish temple in continuous use in the Western Hemisphere. A thick layer of sand on the floor symbolizes the Israelites' wanderings in the desert before they reached the Promised Land.
