Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is s. on US 13, e. on SR 12, s. on SR 9, then about 2.5 mi. e. on Whitehall Neck Rd. Although the refuge primarily protects migrating ducks, geese and other seasonal birds, wildlife can be seen year-round. Five walking trails and a 12-mile round-trip driving route offer opportunities to explore the 15,978-acre refuge, and three observation towers provide a panorama of the area.
Picnic tables are available near the visitors center.
Refuge open daily 30 minutes before dawn-30 minutes after dusk. Visitor center open Mon.-Fri. 8-4, Sat.-Sun. 9-5, Mar.-May and Sept. 1 to mid-Dec.; Mon.-Fri. 8-4, rest of year.
